Born in Saskatoon and raised in Calgary, artist Susan Woolgar has a talent for capturing moments and memories. From glistening streets of some far off town, to the lush gardens of France to the sun drenched fields of Southern Alberta, Susan has captured them all.
Influenced by water, shadow and texture, Susan’s use of acrylic, oil, pastel, and watercolour medium allows her to exercise that "need to paint" that she has felt since childhood. Her subtleties of colour and technique create a canvas rich in motion and depth. Her subjects reach out to the viewer, often evoking a distant memory that had been long forgotten.
A teacher as well as an artist, Susan has been exhibiting professionally in Canada since 1982. Her paintings are featured in private and corporate collections in Canada and the US.
